When you are on an Alaska bear viewing trip, you are sure to get thrilled and excited. In an Alaska bear-watching trip, you will be taken to the wildest places in Alaska for bear-watching. The aircraft will take you south to the Cook Inlet and Katmai National Park, where your bear viewing adventure begins. You can fly directly to Katmai in a floatplane or on a twin-engine aircraft that will fly you to Brooks Falls. The journey time to Katmai by aeroplane is 2.5 hours approximately, and it includes much of the same sightseeing.
The Alaskan brown bear tours will have the same amount of time to observe the bears on the ground as before. When you land at Katmai, you can begin to understand why Brown Bears make this location their home. On this excursion, you'll be surrounded by salmon streams, vast lakes, mountains, and thick forests.
On a guided bear watching trip, you will undergo a brief bear orientation with one of the park rangers after getting out of the plane. The next step is to explore the bear country from there.
You will walk approximately 2 miles through the park to a bear viewing platform from the aircraft, where you will be able to take pictures of bears catching salmon as they climb Brooks Falls.
To get to Brooks Falls, Regal Air uses a variety of aircraft, sometimes including a transfer, including wheeled and float aircraft. You will fly virtually the same route regardless of the aircraft you use. When you get to Brooks Camp, you will fly in a floatplane, spend at least four hours on the ground, arrive late at night around 11 p.m., and then fly back to Anchorage sometime between 5 p.m. and 7 p.m. We are able to maximize our fleet and the number of seats we have while still providing a very similar experience to all of our guests.
