Bear Viewing in Alaska is one of the most sought-after activities in the region. However, getting to spot a group of brown bears quietly happens to be an experience that few are likely to forget in a hurry. While there are numerous tour operators claiming to be the best, it makes sense to go with a tried and tested one every time. Ditto for the locale!
You have to follow the instructions of the guide accompanying you on the boat though. Be assured of seeing the brown bears at close quarters and rejoice on finding the tiny cubs wrestle each other and fall off suddenly with a plonk. You are welcome to do a bit of clam digging yourself too but beware of sharing your find with the huge creatures. They are likely to feel threatened by your actions. Remain as quiet as a dormouse while embarking on a Chinitna Bay bear viewing trip.
